Hier werden nämlich sehr positiv die Befehle untereinander verglichen (FreeBSD/Linux/Solaris.. wo ist AIX?) und für Umsteiger ist das ganze somit perfekt. Zwar wird nicht wirklich auf die Unterschiede der Shells (sh,ksh,tcsh,bash) eingegangen, aber genau für dieses Thema habe ich ein sehr gutes Buch. Es kann auch nicht alles bis in das kleinste Detail erkörtert werden. Somit, IMO gut gemacht.

Pretty in Pink, She's Having A Baby, und vor allem Ferris macht Blau. Klingelts? Werden Erinnerungen wach? Ich empfand Mainstreamkino nie mehr wieder so, wie es Hughes schaffte. Für mich bedeutet es mal wieder die alten Filmhits rauszukramen und heute Abend ein Stück Geschichte in Form von Andrew, Claire, John, Allison und Brian einzulegen und auch an ein paar von mir gehasste Leherer damals zu Gedenken. Danke John, werde Dich nicht vergessen, es war irgendwo eine Rebellion unter Pupertierenden der "Breakfast Club"..

Buzzwords, ich liebe diese Idiotie der aus dem Keller geholten BWLer mit welchen damals Niemand essen wollte. WTH, ich meine das Ernst, wer hat diesen Blubberblasenbildern nur diese Macht gegeben einem Administrator zu erklären, welche Software, natürlich durch einen Verkäufer auf das Auge gepresst, er braucht? Das ist meines Erachtens das Minimum, welches über Netzwerkanalyse in einem Unix/Linux-basierten Netzwerk zu Wissen ist. Zwar wird nicht auf die einzelnen Schichten des Stacks eingegangen, aber ein erster Ansatz um sich weiter für das Thema zu intersssieren. Das ganze ist natürlich auch als PDF verfügbar, ersichtlich auf der rechten Seite. Wer sich bis auf die Seite 5 vorklickt findet noch Tips für weitere Ressourcen und die Tutorials auf DevelperWorks kann ich im Grunde immer empfehlen.

Golem.de: Lautstärkeregler für einzelne Browsertabs
Die zentrale Lautstärkeregelung im Betriebssystem nutzt dem Anwender nicht viel, wenn er gezielt eine einzelne Tonquelle regulieren will. Mit dem Browser-Lautstärkeregler will Apple hingegen dem Anwender die Möglichkeit einräumen, für jeden einzelnen Browsertab eine individuelle Regelung zu treffen. Im Hintergrund könnte der Nutzer weiter Musik hören, aber von Tönen aus Browserspielen und Werbejingles verschont bleiben.

Apple reicht mal wieder eine Patentschrift ein. Was völliger Blödsinn ist, da es genau jenes schon gibt und mit den Namen PulseAudio sogar Verwendung in dem neuen *buntu hat:

Mit PulseAudio bekommt Ubuntu einen neuen Sound-Server, der es erlaubt, für jede Sound-Anwendung, eine spezifische Lautstärke festzulegen. Einen besonders stabilen Ruf genießt die Software allerdings bisher nicht, insofern müssen interessierte Anwender sie über den Paketmanager und das Paket gnome-volume-control-pulse nachinstallieren. Nach einem Neustart erschienen im Test oben rechts in der Menüleiste plötzlich zwei kleine Lautsprecher-Icons: Entfernen Sie das mit dem vertikalen Schieberegler. Dazu klicken Sie es mit der rechten Maustaste an und wählen Aus dem Panel entfernen. Ein Rechtsklick auf das übrig gebliebene Icon und die Wahl des Menüpunktes Einstellungen bringt Sie in die Konfiguration von PulseAudio. Im Reiter Anwendungen legen Sie nun die Lautstärke für die einzelnen Programme fest.

Mal sehen, ob mal wieder ein Patent vergeben wird, obwohl die Sache in dem Sinne ein alter Hut ist?

Golem.de: Microsoft finanziert freien NFSv4-Client für Windows
Die University of Michigan entwickelt im Auftrag von Microsoft einen NFSv4-Client für Windows. Microsoft unterstützt bisher nur die Version 3 des vor allem unter Unix-Systemen verbreiteten Network File System.

Sehr schön den die Windows Services for Unix sind Pita. Hat also Microsoft langsam mal die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt, oder etwa doch nicht. Ich warte immer noch auf einen simplen NFS-Client aus dem GNU-Lager für Windows. Eine XML-Datei, oder so, peng es hat sich. Zwar rennt hier bis auf meinen Schwager kein Windows, welcher er nur noch teilweise nutzt ;), aber es ist simpler als einen Einsteiger Samba zu erklären.

In den heise-Foren zeigt der Benutzer Roman Thorben von Stolzenfels wie Blödsinnig das Gesetz ist. Wer auf den Link klickt, welcher sich nicht als ein Sperrlink entpuppt, wird auf eine Seite gebracht, welche aufzeigt wie bescheuert man auf eine gesperrte Seite kommen kann, ohne das man dies möchte. Sowas dachte ich mir schon die ganze Zeit und ich finde das Bsp. ganz gut. Für mich bedeutet dies, squid-prefetch auszuschalten und squid alles mitloggen zu lassen und zwar für min 8 Monate inkl inkrementielle Backups. Wo da nun der Datenschutz in dem Punkt ist, wenn ich alles mitlogge weiß ich auch nicht. Aber Hey, Zensursula sei genüge getan. Wenn Idioten Computertechnikunerfahrene sich um Computergesetze kümmern, kann nur Mist rauskommen.

Und dann ist da noch die herrliche Basherei um dieses bescheuerte Tomboy. Sind wir doch mal ehrlich, ich will, brauche dieses bescheuerte Mono nicht und mache auch um jede Mono-Anwendung einen Bogen. Ich nutze zwar beides nicht, aber Mono ist für mich wirklich die Rampensau in der Verschwendung von Ressourcen. Ich finde es Gut, wenn sich Jemand die Mühe macht, dass ganze in CPP zu hacken und dann weiterzugeben. Das Gejammer verstehe ich auch nicht, denn es ist GPL, somit, wenn es Euch nicht passt, macht eine ClosedSource daraus und Ruhe ist. Ich verstehe immer noch nicht, warum soviel gepushed wird, was nicht wirklich in die Unix-Mentalität gehört. Aber lass uns weiter an irgendwelchen Menschen orientieren die Linux auf den Desktop möchten und zwar als Windows-Ersatz/Ebenbild. Ich halte mich da raus. Vor allem sind es zu einem Großteil Menschen, welche wirklich nichts der Community zurückgeben und eine massive Erwartungshaltung haben. Ich möchte jene solange nicht gerecht werden, solange jene nicht auch mal ein wenig GNU leben.

Und dann polterte mir noch entgegen, dass es mit meiner Lieblingsfigur auf dem SuperNES einen Film geben wird. Kristin Kreuk macht auf Chun-Li in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Mal sehen wir der wird. Wäre Schade, wenn es mal wieder zu einem Reinfall wird. Ich lasse mich überraschen.
